Our
fourth convening of the Ohio Leadership Forum Pilot Cohort will feature
continuing instruction on the Adaptive Leadership™ framework, including a
special focus on diagnosing adaptive challenges. We will introduce a new
tool for mapping leadership challenges. Many of you have already read
Leadership on the Line, by Ronald A. Heifetz and Marty Linsky. If not, we
encourage you to do so. You may purchase the book at Prairie Lights
Bookstore (www.prairielightsbooks.com)
or by calling toll free at 800-295-BOOK (800-295-2665).

In preparation
for the June Forum please re-read Chapter 3, “Get on the Balcony,” of
Leadership on the Line.
As a group, we will work the
common case of closing achievement gaps as a way to understand the new tool on
mapping leadership challenges that will be distributed onsite. Afterwards,
individuals will use the tool to diagnose their own leadership challenges and
receive feedback from the group and our consultants. In preparation for the
group work on closing achievement gaps, a reading from the National Education
Association is provided. The NEA conducted background research on gap closing,
and the synopsis of their findings maps out many key issues that will be
fruitful for our discussion.
