Leadership Articles, Publications and Working Documents for the September 2005 Forum

When we gather in Columbus, we will work on our adaptive leadership strategies by “working the case” of data in Ohio. This fall, every superintendent, principal, teacher, and parent in Ohio will receive a new report on student performance data. Further, Ohio is moving toward a value-added assessment system. We will think together, along with a superintendent leader from Tennessee, about what leadership challenges may arise.

Please be sure to bring all of these materials to the Forum!

He’s Got Your Number, David Hill, Education Week, 2000 is offered as a deep background piece on value-added assessment.

Certification/Licensure: Pros & Cons, published by The Education Commission of the States, is a basic backgrounder focused on assessing teacher effectiveness.

OLF Leadership Challenge Followup Sheet (#2)

Use this worksheet in conjunction with your completed Leadership Challenge Followup Sheet #1, which you completed prior to your first consultation conference calls in June. A copy of the blank worksheet #1 is available on the "Resources" page for your reference.

Additional background materials include a set of sample data reports from the Ohio Department of Education, all of which are available for viewing and downloading on the protected portion of this website. To access the protected portion of the website, click on "Member Login" on the menu to the left.
